Specific and prototypical Graz urban figures and stories are invited to join the club, such as the city of Ragnitz, the Terrassenhaussiedlung or the Einküchenhaus. Their common denominator is the extraordinary way they deal with the unknown and change.

Graz is beautiful and Graz is safe, Graz is university and Graz is automobile. Arguments that make the city a particularly sought-after place for investment and speculation. The pressure on the urban is increasing, the interests of the public or partial public are being pushed back and the question of who owns land is becoming a central factor.

Through data-based processes, places, objects, forms, materials, and even the human body – our entire environment – are encoded, transcoded, and recoded. The collection, interpretation, and utilization of data creates a society that must be explored and negotiated.

Migration movements

The strict separation of functions in modernity no longer corresponds to the current realities of life. Many places, many jobs, many relationships characterize the biographies. Multiple places of life, which create temporally limited, discontinuous social spaces, do not behave polar or exclusive to each other, but rather complementary and set in motion a multilateral wish machine.

A model is a pragmatically (to relevant properties) reduced (scaled down) representation. A model is a pattern that is duplicated. A model is a person who serves as a model for an artist, for example. A model is a mental construct of natural or social phenomena. These and other models need to be explored.

A free, playful handling of objects, materials and structures evokes new contents and forms. By intelligent and speculative misreading, new positions and roles can be taken – entertainment is part of the game.
